Lectures & Workshops

Herbal Spa Day

You will be pampered as you experience this hands-on class of herbal skin care product making.  Included in the day will be a footbath, facial and hand massage.   We will make a facial cleanser, a floral steam, a honey mask, toner and moisturizer.  You may use the products and take home products to use again.  Included is a Spa Lunch and herbal tea.  Come enjoy the day at the Herbal Spa.

Botanica Erotica

This class will be an exploration of herbal aphrodisiacs. We will discuss the actions of the plants and the organs they nourish.  There most certainly will be some giggles as we consume sensuous tactile stimulating succulent foods with our hands. Dinner will be served with aphrodisiac Cordials and Elixirs.  Teresa will demonstrate how to prepare a Love Potion for participants to take home.

Food As Medicine- Kitchen Apothecary

Learn to use common foods, herbs and spices already in your pantry to increase your vitality, soothe digestion and incorporate food as medicine. Teresa will demonstrate several recipes and students will participate in food preparation including tonic soups, condiments and syrups.   This class is an introduction to Kitchen Pharmacy and the medicinal uses of plants.

Botanical Sanctuary


Teresa will lead this group in harvesting and transplanting wild native medicinal plants. She will discuss Plant Identification, ethical wildcrafting and plant uses. Participants will learn to  establish a native medicinal garden. bring a brown bag lunch work gloves, good shoes, hand trowels and/or shovel.  Take home native plants to establish your own Botanical Sanctuary


Wild Food Foraging

Wild foods contain an abundant supply of nutrients readily available and easily assimilated into the body. They also provide some of the wildness of life which connects us back to our roots.
J Plant identification will be the focus as we wander the paths to gather flowers, leaves and roots.  We will collect many of the wild medicinal and edible plants from the land in Rock Mills.  Some of the plants used to create an amazing meal of wild foods will be collected in advance to insure time to prepare and consume the meal.
  Students will participate in the collection and preparation of the wild foods.


Native  Medicinal  Plant  Workshop

Learn to identify and use the local medicinal plants of our beautiful mountain region.We will gather, harvest and brew into herbal teas, elixirs, tinctures, oils and salves the healing plants so bountiful here.  Explore the fields, mountains, stream beds and roadside in search for native medicinals.  Learn to incorporate these wonderfully healing plants into a traditional home apothecary.
